Community Board 12 Issues Advisory on Illegal Street Closures

Community Board 12 is urging residents to report any unauthorized street closures they may encounter.

In an advisory issued on Friday morning, CB12 emphasized that any closed streets should be immediately reported to their office at 718-851-0800 or via email at bk12@cb.nyc.gov.

Residents are encouraged to provide as much information as possible, including details about who is responsible for the closure. The board has made it clear that illegally closed streets will not be tolerated and that appropriate action will be taken once they are notified.

In recent months, BoroPark24 has reported multiple times on the chaotic situation in our neighborhood due to miscommunication between city agencies and construction companies. Streets are frequently closed, and freshly completed sidewalks and roadways are often torn up again for additional work. This has led to numerous street closures, many of which occur without proper permits, causing major disruptions for residents.
