Chief of NYPD’s Brooklyn South Command Visits Boro Park to Reassure
Boro Park – The top police official on the southern half of Brooklyn was in Boro Park Sunday to reassure the Orthodox community that they are safe despite recent anti-Semitic violence.
Chief Brian Conroy, the commanding officer for the NYPD’s Brooklyn South Command, visiting the Bobover and Satmar shuls to assure congregants of their security. He was accompanied by Barry Spitzer, the manager of Community Board 12. Yidel Perlstein, CB12’s chairman, was out of town and couldn’t make it for the visit.
Police officers have been entering shuls across the neighborhood on Shabbos and Sunday and telling people that their safety was of utmost concern.
There have also been cruisers placed strategically outside shuls and halls with the lights flashing.
