Boro Park - A car burst into flames Wednesday afternoon when the driver tried tossing a lit cigarette out the window.

Flames and a thick black smoke billowed from the vehicle at the intersection of Fort Hamilton Parkway and 57th Street. Firefighters responded after witnesses called 911 and they quickly extinguished the blaze.

No injuries were reported.

The fire was apparently caused when the driver tried throwing a cigarette he was smoking out the window and the wind blew it back into his car.
