Captured Moment: The Hachnosas Sefer Torah

YS GOLD

This week’s captured moment takes us to the edge of Boro Park sometime in the 1970’s, when a group of mispalelim gathered to rejoice with a new Torah.

Some of our readers may be able to identify the Shul to which they were proceeding based on the people in the picture.

___

Answer to last week’s captured moment:

The Shinever beis Medrash, under the leadership of Rav Avraham Menachem Mendel Wagschal, later of Monsey, was one of the early shtieblach in postwar Boro Park, located at 1563 42nd Street.

For decades, it has served as Khal Afsei Aretz-Brezna.
