Bridge Construction Starts on 18th Avenue

As we reported last week, work started yesterday at the overpass on 18th Avenue as part of an ongoing project of repairing the bridges passing over the LIRR, which passes through Boro Park.

The project will cause the elimination of parking spots along the stretch of 53rd Street and 18th Avenue and will cause traffic to be closed alternatively on the northbound and southbound lanes between 52nd Street and 54th Street. Traffic will also be shifted to the lane usually reserved for parking. 

In all, close to 60 parking spots will be temporarily eliminated on 18th Avenue and on 53rd Street.
