Boro Park Fire and Police Officers Commemorate September 11

By Idy Perl

Several fire and police stations in Boro Park are commemorating September 11 and the first responders who died on that dark day.

This morning, at the time when the two planes crashed into the Twin Towers, FDNY Engine 282/Ladder 148 station on 12th Ave, FDNY Engine 247 station on 60th St and FDNY Engine 250 station on Foster Ave held events to honor the firefighters of their respective stations who lost their lives in the terror attack. The names of the firefighters who gave their lives to save others were read out loud to honor their memory.

The 66th Precinct held an event as well to remember the officers who died on that day in front of the Precinct on 16th Avenue, headed by the Commanding Officer Captain Kenneth Herrarte.
