Boro Park Community Leaders and Askanim Urge Women and Children to Take Part in Emergency COVID Test Drive Today

Boro Park Community Leaders and Askanim Urge Women and Children to Take Part in Emergency COVID Test Drive Today

Today from 12 to 5pm, Tefillah Lemoshe, which is located at 4822 16th Ave., is hosting an emergency COVID testing drive for women and children.

Community leaders and askanim from all the kehillas in Boro Park are united in asking all the women and children who are feeling healthy today to please get tested today at Tefilla Lemoshe so that the neighborhood can add as many COVID-negative tests as possible to the total positivity rate, and drive that rate down.

Williamsburg askanim claim that they never showed spiking rates of COVID because the community made intensive efforts to COVID increase testing before Rosh Hashana.

Many leaders in Boro Park similarly regard emergency test drives as the ticket to freedom from the red zone restrictions.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo has said that any community that shows a positivity rate under 3% for 10 consecutive days can leave the red zone. Last week. Gov. Cuomo announced that Brooklyn’s red zones had shown improvement by dropping from a 7.7% positivity rate to 5.5%. Boro Parkers are hoping to increase testing this week so as to further drive down their positivity rate and get out of lockdown.

Announcements of testing drives for men will be forthcoming.
