As is a yearly tradition, before Rosh Hashana many Shuls are celebrating the completion of a new Sefer Torah, and Alef Slichos is usually the day they are given into the Shul.

This year 4 new Sifrei Torah will be celebrated through the Boro Park streets with thousands participating in the singing and dancing.

The first Hachnusas Sefer Torah will be at 3:45pm, and will leave from 15th Avenue and 41st Street and go to Bhm”d Kavunas Halev on 43rd Street between 16th and 17th Avenues.

At 4:30pm two additional ones will take place, one on 51st Street between 9th and 10th Avenues, and the second one leave 43rd Street between 16th and 17th Avenues and go to the Kloizenberg Shul at 1420-50th Street. The Sefer Torah will parade through 15th Avenue.

The last one for the day will take place at 6pm and will leave 15th Avenue and 50th Street and parade through 15th Avenue to the Satmar Shul at 45th Street.

As people will be dancing in the streets to celebrate the momentous occasion, nearby streets will be blocked off temporarily to accommodate the singing and dancing of crowds.
