Bobover Rebbe Pours Cornerstone for two Gigantic Buildings, as Thousands Look on Joyfully

This afternoon (Sunday), marked a historic moment in the annals of the Bobover Chassidus as the movement grows and expands within the Boro Park community, as thousands of chassidim gathered in the Shul on 48th Street to witness history in the making.

On the podium were two lucite boxes, where the Rebbe would be pouring the concrete that would serve as the cornerstones for an enormous new Yeshiva Bnei Tzion d’Bobov, and an enormous new Bnos Tzion d’Bobov.

The original plan was to hold the event at the site of the future yeshiva building, on 37th Street and 13th Avenue. But with the rain that came down all day, well… if the people can’t go to the cornerstones, the cornerstones must come to them.

And so it was that, amid great emotion, the Rebbe placed the traditional coins into the concrete, poured more concrete, placed more coins, and so on, for each of the buildings.

Prior to this, he noted the great history of the moment; how his holy and illustrious father came to this country after the Holocaust with nothing, having lost most of his family and Bobover chassidus—and then proceeded to rebuild, with joy and with love.

Following this, the Rebbe held a separate tish for the children, at which they sang the special niggun that is always sung—as his father had done before him—whenever the Rebbe joins with the children.

Boro Park residents have probably noticed the two sites; the girls’ school site which is located directly adjacent to the existing school building, and the future yeshiva building on the outskirts of Boro Park—both of which have been progressing steadily.

It is 75 years after the Bobover Rebbe, zt”l, arrived in America. The growth has, ka”h, continued steadily. And the spring of 2021 marked yet another milestone, or cornerstone, in this remarkable historic saga.
