Beware! Electronic Devices Snatched Out of the Hands of Pedestrians on NY Streets

by M.C. Millman
Police have released a photo of a group of suspected moped thieves along with a video of one of them getting off a moped and walking into Washington Square Park with stolen goods.
The video and photo were shared after an uptick of pedestrians had personal electronic items with a special focus on noise-canceling devices, stolen by a roving team of moped-riding thieves.
The uptick in thefts started on January 28 and have involved four people on two mopeds who ride up to victims from behind and snatch their electronic devices before speeding off.
Most of the thefts have taken place in the mid-to-late afternoon.
So far, no arrests have been made.
