Bercher Beis Medrash Melave Malka to Pay Tribute to Rav Olewski, zt”l –Longtime Friend

Bnei Yisaschar d’Berch has been a corner of Torah and chassidus in the Boro Park community for many decades, having been founded by the Bercher Rebbe, Rav Tzvi Elimelech Rokeach, zt”l, in the 1950’s.
For many years, a revered friend to the shul has been Rav Dovid Olewski, zt”l, the Rosh Yeshiva of the Gerer Mesivta—which is located across the street from the shul—who was sadly niftar from the Coronavirus last year. He was especially close to, ybl”ch, the current Bercher Rebbe, Rav Mendel Rokeach, shlit”a.
Rav Olewski would speak at many melaveh malkah’s over the years—where he would bring his trademark overflow of Torah and chassidus melded together with his brilliant oratory.
Thus, it is especially apt that the shul will pay tribute to this exceptional personality, a ga’on in Torah and chassidus, who taught Torah to thousands of talmidim over the years, at the annual melaveh Malkah which takes place this motzei Shabbos at the Bercher Beis Hamedrash: 5402 14th Avenue.
