YS GOLD
We regret to inform you of the passing of Reb Yitzchok Stefansky, z"l, a pillar of the Boro Park community. He was 88 years of age.
Together with his father and brothers, he helped found the legendary Minyan Beis Medrash Gavoah-Lakewood Minyan which continues to be an outpost of Torah and tefillah in Boro Park, and where he made his place for Torah and tefillah until his last days with great mesirus nefesh. The niftar was a co-founder of the legendary Dagim Tehorim fish company, one of the first kosher tuna producers which has since branched out into a fish empire.
Reb Yitzchok established beautiful Torah generations which adorn Torah communities throughout the world.
He was a tremendous ba'al chessed and a great ba'al tzeddakah whose door was open to one and all.
He was close to many gedolei Yisroel, including Rav Aharon Kotler and the Skulener Rebbe, zt"l, and ybl"ch, the current Roshei Yeshiva of Lakewood.
Reb Yitzchok comes to the Olam Ha'Emes filled with zechuyos from his Torah and mitzvos over 88 years of life.
The levaya will take place at the Lakewood Chapel, 613 Ramsey Avenue at 10:00, and from there it will proceed to the front of Lakeood Minyan in Boro Park at 12:15 this afternoon. Kevurah will be on Har Hazeisim.
Yehi zichro baruch.
