BDE: Reb Moshe Shmiel Farkash, z”l, Pillar of Satmar Community, Proprietor of Mehadrin Dairy

We are saddened to inform you of the passing of Reb Moshe Shmiel Farkash, z”l, a tremendous ba’al tzeddakah and pillar of the Satmar community. He was 74 years of age.
He was born to his father, Reb Bezalel Farkash, who was one of the founders of the Satmar Kehillah in Boro Park. Ardent Satmar chassidim of the Rebbe, Rav Yoel, zt”l, the family remained great patrons of Satmar institutions in general, and the Boro Park mosdos in particular.
Reb Moshe Shmiel was the founder and proprietor of the famed Mehadrin Dairy, a leader in the dairy industry, producing hundreds of cutting-edge products consumed by Cholov Yisroel consumers around the country.
He saw the blessings of his success as a mission to support institutions and individuals. R’ Moshe Shmiel was known as an extremely generous individual for all his life. He served as the longtime Rosh Hakohol of Satmar in Boro Park.
He became unwell in recent weeks, and over shabbos returned his neshomoh to its maker.
The Levaya will take place at the main Satmar Beis Medrash on 53rd street, where the niftar davened for decades, at 10:30 tonight.
Kevurah will be on the Beis Hachaim in Kiryas Yoel, near the resting place of his beloved Rebbe, the Divrei Yoel of Satmar whose holy institutions he supported with such dedication.
