BDE: Rav Yisroel Plutchok zt"l, Longtime Rosh Yeshiva of Derech Chaim

Boro Park – We are saddened to inform of the petira of Rav Yisroel Plutchok, the longtime rosh yeshiva of Yeshiva Derech Chaim, who suffered from coronavirus in recent days.

Rav Plutchok, who founded the yeshiva on 16th Avenue and 39th Street with his late brother-in-law, Rav Mordechai Rennert zt”l, 36 years ago, was diagnosed with the disease that is sweeping the globe last week.

His thousands of talmidim stormed the heavens in tefilla but he passed away Thursday afternoon.

Derech Chaim is the largest yeshivishe style yeshiva left in Boro Park.
