BDE: Rav Shlomo Blumenkrantz zt”l

We regret to inform you of the passing of the renowned posek and talmid chochom, Rav Shlomo Blumenkrantz, zt”l, of Kensington. 

The niftar was a son of Rav Chaim Menachem Bentzion and Devorah Blumenkrantz, and a brother of Rav Avrohom Blumenkrantz, author of the famed Pesach Digest. Rav Chaim was a graduate of elite yeshivos in Europe, and later became the Chief Rabbi of Columbia, where he raised his children in an atmosphere steeped in Torah and yiras Shomayim. 

Rav Shlomo later became a rov in Boro Park and Kensington, and was renowned for his expertise in many areas of halacha, including gittin—an area in which he assisted many women in receiving their get. 

Rav Bluemenkrantz authored a number of seforim¸ and was renowned for his special mastery of Torah. 

He leaves behind an incredible Torah legacy and a beautiful Torah family. 

The Levaya took place at Shomrei Hadas earlier today.
