BDE: Rav Shia Jacobowitz Z”L.

We are saddened to inform you of the passing of Rav Shia Jacobowitz Z”L, a holocaust survivor that always loves sharing his stories of survival.

Although his exact age isn’t known, Reb Shia was well over 100-years-old, and his passing left a void to many people who looked up to him for his daily Chizuk and smile.

Following the war, Reb Shia got married in Vienna but moved to Boro Park a few years later where he lived a chasidishe life in full health and passed away early Wednesday morning.

Reb Shia Z”l was close to many Admorim prior to the war, and after, including the Satmar Rebbe, Mincha Eluzer from Munkatch, the Pshevosker admorim. His most recent home was with the Rachmistrivka Kehila in Boro Park where he was a devoted Chusid of the current rebbe.

Hundreds of people attended the Levayah of Rav Shia Jacobowitz Z”L at the Minkatch’er shul.
