YS GOLD

We regret to inform you of the passing of Rav Avrohom Yitzchok Rosenfeld, a longtime Boro Park resident, and the rov of Congregation Ahavas Achim Tzemach Tzedek of Lubavitch for more than fifty years. He was 95 years of age.

Rav Avrohom Yitzchok was born in Brooklyn in 1929 to his parents, Reb Chanoch Henich and Esther Miriam Rosenfeld.

With the arrival of the Rebbe Rayatz of Lubavitch in 1940, he enrolled in the transplanted Yeshiva Tomchei Temimim-Lubavitch which was established in the Rebbe's court. Among his other studies, he learned to become an expert Shochet.

He married Rebbetzin Kreina, the daughter of the famed chossid Rav Eliyahu Yachil Simpson who founded the Lubavitcher shul in Boro Park back in the 1920's.

Following the passing of his father in law in 1977, he assumed his place as the rov of the shul on 46th Street, and served faithfully as its leader for more than half a century.

He sadly passed away on Tuesday, 25 Adar.

The levaya will take place place outside the shul at 1546 46th Street tomorrow 12:30pm, and will later pass by by 770 Eastern Parkway.

Yehi zichro baruch.
