BDE: R' Zalman Leib Rosenfeld, a"h.

We are saddened to inform you of the passing of R' Zalman Leib Rosenfeld, of the famed Rosenfeld's Food Distribution. He was 72 years of age, and had suffered a massive cardiac arrest on Friday night, and sadly passed away in a sudden manner, leaving his family, the many who knew and admired him, and scores who benefitted from his generosity in shock. 

The niftar stood at the helm of a major company, which he always saw as a vehicle through which to help his brethren. "He had a heart of gold, and he helped countless people," said one longtime employee. "But we could never scratch the surface... We knew that he gave massive sums to tzeddakah, but he was incredibly secretive about it. He did everything with simplicity and modesty," he said. 

R' Zalman Leib was among the pillars of the Faltishaner Beis Medrash on 49th Street, and he was admired by all those he came in contact with. 

The levaya will take place at the Faltishaner Beis Medrash this evening at around 12:00
