BDE: R’ Shaya Fried Z”L

We are saddened to inform of the passing of Reb Shaya Fried z”l, a Holocaust survivor who moved after the war to Boro Park and rebuilt his life. He was 91.

The levaya will take place at 9:30 Sunday morning at Beis Medrash Kevunas Halev on 1654 43rd Street.

Born in Czechoslovakia to Reb Shlomo and Frumet Fried, Shaya survived the war and moved to the United States, where he married his wife Edith. He supported himself in the printing industry and joined the Krasne kehilla.

He was niftar in Maimonides Medical Center on Shabbos.

Kevura will be at the Beis Moshe cemetery on Long Island.
