We regret to inform you of the passing of Reb Nosson Aryeh Hakohen Munk, a longtime Boro Park resident and an important askan in the kiruv world. He was 82 years of age.
The niftar was the son of Rav Eliyahu, a noted rov in Paris, who hailed from generations of Rabbonim in Germany.
He married, tbl”ch, Mrs. Rochel (nee Rand), the daughter of Rav Osher Zalka HaKohen Rand, the author of Toldos Anshei Sheim, and a noted talmid chochom.
He was a driving force in Vaad L’Hatzolas Nidchei Yisroel, an organization dedicated to saving Russian Jewry, and he was also active in other kiruv endeavors in New York.
Rabbi Munk davened for many years at the Telshe Minyan in Boro Park.
He leaves behind beautiful Torah generations, and a sterling legacy of Torah and yiras Shomayim and selflessness to others.
The Levaya took place this morning in front of the Radovitzer Beis Medrash, where the niftar davened occasionally, and a Levaya will take place in Lakewood at the Lakewood Chapel, 613 Ramsey Avenue, at 1:30 in the afternoon.
Yehi zichro baruch.
