BDE: Mrs. Miriam Stern, a”h

We are deeply saddened to inform you of the passing of Mrs. Stern, a”h, proprietor of Boro Rug, incredible ba’alas chessed, and longtime Boro Park resident. She was 91 years of age.

She was married to, ybl”ch, Reb Chaim Stern, and together they established a beautiful Torah family and a legacy of incredible chessed. 

The nifteres and her family were incredibly close to the Makava Rebbe, and to the cause of the Makava mosdos. 

Already back in the eighties, they had the zechus of hosting the Makava Rebbe, and invited all the chassidim to the tish in their dining room. 

Her home was open to all. One of the Sterns’ visitors recalls: “She called us in and gave us fifteen keys to the house, saying, ‘this home belongs to Makave…’ thus inviting all the chassidim who were there to feel at home coming and going as they pleased.” 

“Her home was also open to any broken Yid in need of chizuk,” he recalled. “Her hachnosas orchim was on a level that we don’t see today.” 

The levaya will take place Wednesday morning in front of the Faltishaner Beis medrash on 49th Street.
