BDE: Mrs. Judka Strauss

We regret to inform you of the passing of Mrs. Judka Strauss, a woman from the Boro Park community who lived with joy despite her challenges in life. She was 99 years of age.  

She hailed from the town of Satmar, Romania. Her father was Reb Chaim Broyde. 

She spent the war years in Auschwitz, where she lost her entire family, Hy”d. 

She was married Reb Berci Strauss following the war, and settled in Boro Park, where the Strauss’s davened in the Sigheter Shul. 

The couple did not merit children, but were were nevertheless joyful, and intent on enjoying life.

“She loved to travel, recalled a nephew, “and always focused on giving to other. 

The levaya will take place Friday morning at the Sighter cemetery section in New Jersey. 

As she did not leave behind children, the public is asked to learn a Mishnah or give tzeddaka l’iluy nishmas Yitel bas R’ Chaim.
