BDE: Mrs. Chana Berger, a”h

By Yehuda Alter
We are saddened to inform you of the passing of Mrs. Berger, age 71, a longtime Boro Park resident.
The nifteres was born to Rabbi and Mrs. Yisroel Klein, in the town of Kalev, Hungary, following the war.
Her parents were Holocaust survivors descended from the famed Reb Yankele Fish, the Gabbai of Rebbe Aizikel of Kalov.
They remained in Hungary until 1958, when the family came to Montreal and later relocated to New York.
She married Reb Shmuel Getzel Berger, and they set down beautiful roots in Boro Park. The Bergers were mispalelim at the Kossoner and Radomishla Shuls.
The nifteres was known for her piety. She spent her days reciting tehillim and doing chesed, and she was beloved by all who knew her.
She was unwell for about two years, and her passing leaves a void in the hearts of her family and all who knew her.
The levaya will take place at Shomrei Hadas at 10:00 this morning.
Yehi zichra baruch.
