BDE: Meis Mitzvah, Reb Aron Yeshaya Porush, z”l, of Yerushalayim, Suffered Heart Attack in Boro Park
Shock coursed through Boro Park, as the news spread of a
terrible tragedy that occurred in our midst. This afternoon, Reb Aron Yeshaya
Porush, z”l—from the legendary Yerushalmi Porush family—suffered a massive heart
attack while in Boro Park. Hatzolah medics
called to the scene were sadly unable to revive him, and he was niftar a
short time later.
He was sadly fifty-five years of age.
The niftar lived in Meah She’arim, where the family
has had roots for generations, and was an ardent Biala chossid. His father, Rav
Chaim Sholom Porush, was the secretary of the Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah of Agudas
Yisroel for decades, and a great expert in the history of the Chassidic
movement. He would also publish a weekly column in Hamachane Hacharedi. He
became close to the Chelkas Yehoshua of Biala, and this is where he raised his
large family.
Reb Aron Yeshaya was known to spend hours upon hours in tefillah
at the kosel, and dedicated many hours to Torah learning. He was also
known as an exceptional ba’al middos.
This loss has shocked the Biala chassidus, and Yidden in Boro Park and beyond.
Anyone who is able is asked to participate in the levaya, which will take place at Shomrei Hadas, 6:00 this evening, to give a kavod acharon to the niftar who has no one in America.
