Babies Named in 2020

Mazal Tov! Celebration spreads as soon as a baby is born! Somehow, newborns know the magic of bringing light into the world. 

The NYC Health Department Press Office has released the most popular names given to babys in 2020. 

Liam remains the most widespread name given to boys in NYC, followed closely by Noach and Yaakov. Yosef, Duvid, Alexander, and Daniel also made it to the top ten names given to boys.

In the girl’s department Emma was the most popular name followed by Leah and Sarah among others. 

“2020 was a challenging year, but these babies were bright spots,” said Health Commissioner Dr. Dave Chokshi. “We are thrilled to celebrate our newest New Yorkers and welcome them to the world.”
