Assemblyman Simcha Eichenstein Slams Government Bureaucracy Over Repeated Street Construction

By BoroPark24 Staff
Assemblyman Simcha Eichenstein has voiced strong criticism regarding what he describes as "government bureaucracy at its worst" after his street in Brooklyn has been repeatedly dug up, repaved, and torn apart again—at least four times in the past eight months.
In a post shared on X, Eichenstein expressed frustration over the inefficiency, stating that another construction project by the NYC Department of Design and Construction NYCDDC and NYC Water is set to begin tomorrow on a street that was just repaved five weeks ago. The project will involve installing bioswales, despite the road having been freshly finished.
"Why can't city agencies coordinate to avoid repetitive work and spare taxpayers' dollars?" Eichenstein questioned.
Adding to the frustration, Eichenstein highlighted the constant street closures, which contradict the permits requiring at least one lane to remain open. Abandoned construction equipment has also been left in the area for weeks, further obstructing parking and exacerbating local inconveniences.
