As Manhunt Underway for Maine Shooter, NYS Highway Patrol Out in Droves

On Wednesday, a man opened fire at a restaurant and bowling alley in Lewiston, Maine, killing 18 people, and then fled the scene. 

As the manhunt continues, New York State Police is taking precautionary measures and placing extra patrols on the New York highways. 

They have clarified that the suspect’s vehicle has not been spotted in New York, and they have no reason to believe that he is in the state. These measures are precautionary only.
