Following the Holocaust, and the annihilation of the vast majority of Polish Jewry--among them most of the Amshinover chassidus--Rav Yitzchok Kalish, Amshinover Rebbe survived miraculously.
After spending some years in Williamsburg, he relocated to Boro Park, where the shtiebel was founded on Fifteenth Avenue and still exists there today.
Following his passing, he was succeeded by his son Rav Yosef Kalish, who was niftar during the first wave of the Coronavirus, in Nissan of 2020. His son, Rav Menachem Kalish, shlit"a, a scion of Amshinov and namesake of one of the earlier Admorim, has assumed his place, but for the time being has remained in Eretz Yisroel.
Now, he is set to relocate to Boro Park, and continue the leadership here his father and grandfather have led and inspired the chassidim for close to seventy years.
