After Collecting Four Pallets of E-Waste, CB12 Will Hold Event Regularly

Four pallets full of unwanted and broken computers, laptops, phones, printers, tablets, and other electronic devices collecting dust in residents’ homes were amassed at 5010 13th Ave. on April 3 when Community Board 12 held its second pre-Pesach e-waste event.
“This e-waste collection event is here to stay,” said CB12 District Manager Barry Spitzer at last night’s monthly meeting: adding that not only will the board hold the e-waste every year, but maybe even every six months. “It is a good program. People don’t have where to throw out their electronic waste.”
After Chairman Yidel Perlstein warmly thanked the FDNY, DSNY, NYPD, Hatzolah, Chaverim, and other local organizations and partners who “put in a lot of work around the clock before, during, and after Pesach to ensure the holiday went by beautifully and successfully,” Spitzer said, “Preparations are already well underway for Lag B’Omer.
“As usual, we will publicize the list of all of the Lag B’Omer celebrations, which will also be listed on our website and on Twitter.”
“We all know we live in an amazing district, but not everyone knows this as well,” said Perlstein, who mentioned the recent report of the NY Department of Health that revealed Boro Park as the district with the lowest crime rate and the highest birth rate. “We are a vibrant district, and we have a lot of which to be proud.”
