18th Avenue Park Continues to be Open

18th Avenue Park Continues to be Open
After being opened yesterday for the first time in months, 18th Avenue park was once again open today.

After Governor Cuomo gave permission last week for playgrounds and pools to open state-wide last week, Mayor de Blasio insisted that it was still too soon for city parks to be reopened.

State Senator Felder, Assemblyman Eichenstein, and City Councilman Yeger have been protesting the Mayor’s policy of closed playgrounds for the last week since he said that he would not open them.

The protests from the politicians appears to have been successful because when a BoroPark24 reporter went down to the park today, the park was still open.

It appears that well-known Boro park personality Heshy Tischler has been at the 18th Avenue park repeatedly, and confronted the park Department this morning. He demanded that they leave and the park remain open. Interestingly, the three Parks Department officers simply nodded and left.
