Gov. Cuomo Announces: 170,000 COVID Vaccines to Arrive in New York state on Dec. 15

By Yehudit Garmaise

Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced this morning that assuming that, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), grants emergency-use permission of the Pfizer vaccine in the next few weeks, as expected, the pharmaceutical company will deliver 170,000 vaccine dosages to New York state on Dec. 15.

“By the end of December the administration suggests that there will be enough to vaccinate 20 million people with 40 million dosages because we need two dosages per person,” Gov. Cuomo said.

Although the pharmaceutical companies have created and tested their vaccines independently, in his press conference today, Gov. Cuomo said that he has appointed a special New York panel to assess and review the FDA’s approval because the pharmaceutical company Kaiser took a poll that reported that 67% of Americans are skeptical about the efficacy of the vaccine.

Gov. Cuomo inexplicably blamed President Donald Trump's enthusiasm for hydroxychloroquine as the cause of Americans’ skepticism about the COVID vaccines, however, the governor did not acknowledge his own role in New Yorkers’ hesitation to take the vaccine.

“People think the vaccine process was politicized,” said Gov. Cuomo, who himself “politicized” the vaccine distribution when he was the only governor in the U.S. to tell the president that he would refuse deliveries of the vaccine until it was assessed independently of Trump's administration, thereby stoking New Yorkers’ suspicion of a vaccine that could save and normalize lives.

Although the president’s Operation Warp Speed went virtually unreported, in fact, President Trump provided the funding and the resources for pharmaceutical companies to create three viable vaccines in unprecedented and record time.
