Mayor announces Initiative to Bridge Communities, Fight Anti-Semitism in NYC

To this end, the mayor, and New York City Department of Education Chancellor Richard A. Carranza, have announced an expanded partnership between the city and the Museum of Jewish Heritage—a Living Memorial to the Holocaust, which will encourage about 14,000 public school students to visit the museum.

The initiative will focus on public school students or the upper grades from schools in Williamsburg, Boro Park, and Crown Heights—neighborhoods that are shared with their Jewish neighbors.

This comes at a time when random anti-Semitic assaults are seemingly a daily occurrence. this welcome gesture will hopefully go a long way in bringing understanding and sensitivity toward the Jewish community in New York City.
