The iconic Coney Island Boardwalk is now a designated landmark.
The city’s preservation committee voted on Tuesday to landmark the 2.7 mile boardwalk.
According to the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC), the boarwalk’s new status protects its “physical presence along the coastline and its general parameters including the configuration of the boardwalk (length and width).”
